The StoneCatchers Society is a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2021 to serve the people of Iowa and Nebraska. Inspired by the experiences and insights of our founder -himself imprisoned- we advocate for and provide opportunities to individuals impacted by the criminal justice system(s). We embrace an egalitarian mind set and believe that by providing grace, hope, and mercy to those facing misfortune, all facets of our society can improve and progress. We prevent. We promote. We protect.
We, are The StoneCatchers Society.

Three years ago, I knew very little of the criminal justice system. Through my own experience, conversations with fellow inmates, and daily observations, I now know enough; enough to be incapable of ignoring the injustices within. Throughout this trying time in my life, I've been inspired to share my writings, a prisoner's, with the world. Furthermore, in discovering my passion for writing while being incarcerated, I've realized my voice can be that of more than just myself. With the great support system around me, for which I'm eternally grateful, I believe I can be a voice for the voiceless, an advocate for criminal justice reform, and a champion of my fellow peers. And alongside our team of StoneCatchers, I will strive daily, to the best of my ability, to Prevent unnecessary incarceration, Promote wellness opportunities, and Protect the rights of the accused and convicted.

This project has grown on me over the last two years. After many conversations with Tony and researching policy, I developed the itch to have a positive impact within the criminal justice system. In the beginning, the blog was a way to stay connected amongst friends and family. It quickly became apparent that our reach could be much greater. The transformation into The StoneCatchers Society was thought up and put in full motion during the summer of 2020. With the United States often depicted in chaos, we wanted to provide an answer to the question, "how can I help?" Through education, effort, and a relentless pursuit for change through kindness, we will be committed to Preventing unnecessary incarceration, Promoting wellness opportunities, and Protecting the rights of the accused and convicted.
